Staff Engineer, Connectivity Software (UWB/WiFi)

Base pay range: $163,000–$253,000 USD annually

What you will do

• Design and develop embedded firmware modules for wireless connectivity solutions.
• Develop software infrastructure, frameworks, and protocol-stack components for 802.11 WLAN and UWB chipsets.
• Implement, unit test, and fix 802.11 MAC features across data and control paths.
• Build and maintain production-quality firmware in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
• Work with WLAN chipsets, devices, protocols, and related networking equipment.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years of relevant experience, Master’s degree with 8+ years, or PhD with 5+ years in wireless communication technologies.
• Excellent C programming skills for embedded firmware development.
• Experience developing firmware for WLAN and wireless communication protocols.
• Strong knowledge of Wi-Fi IEEE 802.11 MAC/PHY specifications, WFA protocols, and wireless coexistence.
• Ability to debug low-level embedded software and use Linux, kernel, device-driver, version-control, Wireshark, and wireless testing tools.
• Practical experience with network analyzers, WFA test beds, signal generators, power meters, and related lab equipment.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of OFDM, OFDMA, beamforming, RF concepts, QoS, and data-path optimization algorithms.
• Knowledge of Python.
• Familiarity with Bluetooth, UWB, and cellular 4G/5G technologies.
