Benefits Solutions Consultant

Location: Hybrid in Atlanta, GA; Houston, TX; Chicago, IL; or Summit, NJ, with three days per week in the office required. Willingness to travel and work outside standard hours as needed.

Base salary: $110,000–$135,000 annually.

What you will do

• Develop and execute benefit strategies and cost-containment programs for large, self-funded clients.
• Analyze claims, utilization trends, plan financials, benchmarks, and industry developments.
• Lead vendor evaluations, full-cycle RFPs, procurement, contract negotiations, implementations, and performance tracking.
• Serve as the primary day-to-day client contact and manage vendor relationships.
• Oversee deliverables, compliance deadlines, annual planning, reporting, renewals, and client communications.
• Support new business opportunities and internal process improvements.

Requirements

• 5–10 years of experience in insurance, employee benefits, or HR.
• Strong knowledge of Health & Welfare programs, including self-funded medical, pharmacy, dental, vision, disability, life, and absence programs.
• Experience managing large self-funded clients in consulting or brokerage, including benefit plan design and implementation.
• Full-cycle RFP experience, project management skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience; insurance license or ability to obtain one.
• Strong communication, analytical, problem-solving, confidentiality, executive stakeholder, and client service skills.

Nice to have

• Underwriting experience.
• Experience with large data sets and self-funded plan financial analysis.
• Knowledge of benefits regulations and compliance requirements.
