First Robotics Competition Coach (Robotics)

Location: Newark, New Jersey, USA; onsite at Washington Park High School

Compensation: $5,000–$7,000 annual stipend, paid semi-monthly and based on experience and contracted hours per week.

What you will do

• Lead an FRC-focused Project class meeting twice a week and continue coaching during after-school practices.
• Prepare students for competition through additional practices during the January–April build season, including weekday and weekend sessions.
• Register for and participate in 2–3 competition weekends per school year, including at least one regional or district competition.
• Wrap up each competition year, inventory and order materials, prepare student leaders, and recruit new team members.
• Work with the Student Talent Manager to confirm student commitment and establish family communication through the Remind app.

Requirements

• Experience coaching a First Robotics Competition team.
• Availability for twice-weekly Projects and after-school practices from August through June.
• Availability for additional practices during build season and 2–3 competition weekends per school year.
• Ability to communicate with families about practices, competitions, and other club activities.

Nice to have

• Prior participation in FRC during high school.
