Machine Operator - Winder - 12hr Rotating Swing Shifts (AM/PM) (Manufacturing)

Location: Forest Park, Georgia, USA — West Facility; onsite role with rotating 12-hour day and night shifts from 7am–7pm and 7pm–7am

Starting rate: $24.63 per hour, with skill-based pay progression and overnight shift differentials.

What you will do

• Operate, monitor, start up, shut down, and change over winding equipment.
• Adjust production settings and monitor temperatures, pressures, speeds, and material flow.
• Inspect finished products, complete quality checks and production documentation, and record downtime.
• Troubleshoot equipment issues, make minor adjustments, and communicate production or quality concerns to supervisors and maintenance personnel.
• Load raw materials and packaging supplies, remove scrap, and maintain a clean work area according to 5S standards.
• Support preventive maintenance, equipment cleaning, safety requirements, GMP compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
• Ability to read and follow work instructions, production schedules, and quality specifications.
• Mechanical aptitude, troubleshooting skills, and a strong commitment to workplace safety.
• Ability to work rotating day and night shifts, overtime, weekends, and mandatory overtime when required by production demands.
• Ability to stand and walk throughout a 12-hour shift and lift, push, pull, and move materials weighing up to 50 pounds.

Nice to have

• Experience with extrusion, blow molding, winding, converting, or plastic manufacturing equipment.
• Experience with machine setups and product changeovers.
• Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, 5S, or continuous improvement practices.
