Adjunct Faculty - Doctor of Education

Location: Remote within the United States

Compensation: $1,560–$4,080 per quarter or semester for graduate course instruction, depending on course type and length; $700–$2,200 per quarter for undergraduate course instruction.

What you will do

• Teach doctoral-level courses using inclusive, engaging, and dynamic online learning practices.
• Communicate regularly with students and provide individualized instructional support, guidance, feedback, and feedforward.
• Support doctoral research committees and mentor students working on capstone projects and evidence-based decision-making.
• Participate in scholarship and service activities aligned with the university’s educational mission.
• Attend required virtual and in-person faculty meetings, residencies, workshops, commencement ceremonies, and training sessions.
• Maintain availability for students during evenings and weekends.

Requirements

• A doctorate in Education or a closely related discipline.
• At least three years of doctoral-level teaching experience, or demonstrated capacity and willingness to cultivate an inclusive learning environment.
• Experience supporting doctoral research committees.
• Ability to provide individualized instructional support and guidance to doctoral students.
• Alignment with Walden University’s mission and vision.

Nice to have

• Experience with distance learning.
• Experience working with doctoral capstone projects focused on professional problems of practice.
• Experience mentoring doctoral students on capstone projects focused on evidence-based decision-making.
• Ability to consider diverse and sometimes conflicting perspectives.
