Quality Control Tech (Ink Manufacturing)

Location: West Chicago, Illinois, USA; onsite, full-time

Salary: USD 24.00–34.00 per hour, based on qualifications, skills, education, certifications, experience, and geographic considerations.

What you will do

• Perform quality control testing for production batches of inks and coatings.
• Conduct color quality tests, make batch additions and adjustments, and communicate timely corrections to Production.
• Enter test results and maintain accurate quality records in SAP, including labels, filing, and sample retention management.
• Calibrate and verify laboratory test equipment and investigate non-conforming internal and external batches.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area through 5S practices and support Lean Manufacturing.
• Perform customer proofing when required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• 6–12 months of previous laboratory or quality control experience.
• Ability to pass a color vision test and perform color quality testing.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general computer skills.
• Strong verbal, written, reading comprehension, and math skills.
• Ability to stand for extended periods and cover other shifts when needed.

Nice to have

• Understanding of manufacturing operations and basic printing technologies.
• Experience in a high-volume department or Lean Manufacturing facility.
• Trade or technical school education.
• SAP knowledge or previous ink-industry experience.
• Availability and willingness to work overtime.
