Compensation Consultant

Location: Boston, United States; hybrid work environment

Base salary: $88,000–$126,000 per year, plus eligibility for a competitive incentive bonus.

What you will do

• Serve as the primary intake point for compensation requests and provide timely analysis and resolution.
• Advise on job matching, job leveling, market pricing, hiring offers, buyouts, guarantees, cash flow advances, and related compensation programs.
• Conduct analyses using internal data, market benchmarks, and established compensation methodologies.
• Support annual compensation planning through reporting, modeling, testing, and process coordination.
• Maintain compensation data, structures, tools, systems, documentation, FAQs, and operating procedures.
• Manage compensation projects while coordinating stakeholders, activities, and timelines.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a related area.
• 5–6 years of experience in compensation, financial analysis, or a closely related analytical discipline.
• Strong understanding of compensation principles, job evaluation, market pricing, compensation structures, and administration.
• Strong analytical, communication, organization, problem-solving, and prioritization skills.
• Advanced proficiency with Excel and compensation-related analysis.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of compensation regulations and external benchmarking practices.
• Experience with compensation and HRIS tools such as Workday and MarketPay.
• Experience providing consultative center-of-expertise support and influencing without direct authority.
