Company

TAS Energy, part of hirify.global, engineers and manufactures packaged modular systems for data centers, power applications, and commercial and industrial utility systems.

What you will do

  • Design and optimize modular electrical components and complete systems for manufacturing and data center skid projects.
  • Act as the electrical subject matter expert, making design decisions and resolving complex engineering challenges.
  • Develop one-line diagrams, point-to-point schematics, electrical calculations, bills of materials, specifications, and assembly instructions.
  • Size, select, and support purchasing of switchgear, motor starters, VFDs, MCCs, transformers, conduits, conductors, and control systems.
  • Collaborate with project, mechanical, controls, procurement, production, service, and design teams using CAD-based technical documentation.
  • Support fabrication, assembly, installation, vendor inspections, proposals, and the compilation of electrical O&M manuals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or relevant controls engineering education and experience; military technical or leadership experience may be considered as a substitute.
  • 8–10 years of electrical engineering experience, preferably in power distribution, modular construction, data centers, controls, or building systems design.
  • Hands-on knowledge of switchgear, panelboards, motor starters, VFDs, ATS, UPS, cable trays, conduits, and fittings.
  • Experience preparing technical specifications, electrical calculations, fault analysis, and compliance reviews against NEC, IEC, NFPA, and other applicable codes.
  • Ability to work on production floors, including climbing ladders, and to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong technical writing, documentation, communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.

Nice to have

  • Experience with industrial HVAC, ESCO, central refrigeration plants, power generation, modular systems, or data center design.
  • Experience with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or Revit.
  • Knowledge of controls and PLC programming, DCS, SCADA, ASHRAE, or field and production operations.
  • PE registration and estimating or bid tabulation experience.

Culture & Benefits

  • Work in a Houston-headquartered organization combining a small-company environment with the resources and reach of a large publicly traded company.
  • Collaborate within ISO 9001-certified manufacturing facilities and cross-functional engineering and production teams.
  • Contribute to modular systems deployed across data center, power, and utility applications in more than 33 countries.
  • Work in a tobacco- and nicotine-free workplace.
