Focus on managing Trustee relationships, developing social media and newsletter content, translating reports into clear narratives, and executing complex external affairs projects across Brooklyn schools.
Location: Brooklyn, New York, NY, USA; in-person work at least three days per week with regular local travel to Brooklyn campuses and other NYC locations.
Salary: USD 91,300–107,400 per year

What you will do
- Coordinate Uncommon NYC Board of Trustees operations, relationships, communications, meetings, storytelling, onboarding, and annual school visits.
- Manage charter reporting, compliance activities, policy monitoring, and the charter renewal application process.
- Manage regional social media accounts, website updates, school visit communications, and the monthly family newsletter.
- Build relationships with school leaders, Trustees, external partners, and internal teams while supporting advocacy and community engagement projects.
- Develop project management and accountability systems for governance, communications, and stakeholder engagement work.
- Analyze internal reports, dashboards, stakeholder feedback, and surveys and translate findings into audience-specific narratives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Political Science, Public Policy, Marketing, Communications, or a related field.
- 5–6 years of relevant experience in project management, communications, marketing, public policy, community organizing, digital media, operations, or a related area.
- Experience managing organizational social media accounts, including content creation and planning.
- Strong project management, implementation, written and verbal communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to build relationships, coordinate work across teams, manage competing priorities, work independently, and navigate ambiguity.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
