Cryptographic Security Engineer

Location: Johnston, Rhode Island; Iselin, New Jersey; Westwood, Massachusetts; or Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Full-time, Monday through Friday, 8:30am–5:00pm, 40 hours per week, with on-call rotation flexibility.

Salary: $80,000–$110,000 per year, plus potential incentive earnings.

What you will do

• Support and enhance enterprise cryptographic platforms, including PKI, TLS and certificate lifecycle management, cloud key management services, and HSMs.
• Perform certificate issuance, renewal, revocation, validation, key rotation, lifecycle management, monitoring, and incident response.
• Apply cryptographic best practices for algorithms, protocols, key protection, certificate trust models, and lifecycle controls.
• Build scripting and automation solutions using Python, PowerShell, Bash, REST APIs, and system integrations.
• Troubleshoot cryptographic service disruptions and operational issues while improving certificate and key management processes.
• Support post-quantum cryptography readiness through cryptographic inventories, quantum-vulnerable system identification, crypto-agility assessments, and standards evaluation.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in information security, PKI, cryptography, infrastructure security, or security engineering.
• Experience implementing, supporting, or administering enterprise certificate management solutions.
• Working knowledge of TLS, X.509 certificates, PKI concepts, certificate lifecycle management, cryptographic key management, and HSMs.
• Hands-on experience with certificate or key management technologies such as Venafi, Thales CipherTrust, or Luna HSM.
• Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Successful completion of a background check is required.
