Managing Consultant (Data Science)

Location: London, United Kingdom; hybrid working with office or client-site attendance required at least 2 days per week, and up to 5 days per week on client site depending on the assignment

What you will do

• Build and lead teams developing new data and analytics propositions and supporting strategic business growth.
• Lead business development initiatives, build senior client relationships, own outcomes, and deliver high-impact solutions.
• Guide energy and utilities clients through complex digital and data challenges.
• Provide technical leadership, coaching, and knowledge-sharing to support team growth.
• Contribute to thought leadership and market offerings focused on digital innovation.

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in data science leadership and/or consulting, ideally in energy, utilities, or infrastructure.
• Experience leading the development of AI, advanced analytics, data, and digital capabilities, including designing, building, deploying, and scaling analytical products and solutions.
• Strong leadership experience managing teams and delivering complex, high-value programmes and projects.
• Established senior stakeholder network and a record of building long-term client relationships and partnerships.
• Commercial acumen and experience developing and selling consulting or data-driven analytical propositions or products.
• Degree, master’s degree, or PhD in data science, mathematics, operational research, physics, or statistics.

Nice to have

• Experience across the software or product development lifecycle for analytical solutions, from discovery and prototyping through rollout, implementation, and managed services.
• Relationships and delivery experience in water, electricity, gas, nuclear, or infrastructure sectors.

• Three competency interviews in the first round.
• Final-round business plan presentation to PA leaders, with preparation guidance and time provided.
