Section Manager Production Mining

What you will do

• Ensure underground mining activities comply with health, safety, environmental, project, and company standards.
• Execute approved mine plans and schedules through effective management of mining contractors and owner teams.
• Coordinate planning and delivery across contractors, EPCM partners, project owners, suppliers, and site teams.
• Manage contractor performance, equipment and resource productivity, operational risk, and critical hazard controls.
• Drive continuous improvement and best-practice mechanized mining performance, including short-interval control routines.
• Coordinate with ventilation, geotechnical, mine planning, survey, and operational geology functions to support reliable production.

Requirements

• Relevant bachelor's or honours degree in mining engineering or an equivalent discipline, plus required statutory qualifications.
• Mine Managers Certification from DMRE.
• At least 5 years of experience managing a modern mechanized high-performance underground mine in development and production.
• At least 10 years of experience in underground hard-rock mining management.
• Proven experience managing large-scale mechanized underground mine development and production, including mining contractors.
• Knowledge of underground mining-cycle activities, mechanized ground support, in-cycle shotcreting, semi-autonomous and autonomous operations, and mobile-equipment reliability.
