HYCO Operator (Hydrogen/SMR)

What you will do

• Operate the HYCO Steam Methane Reformer, CO2 recovery and compression units, PSA, membrane, utility, water treatment, and ancillary systems.
• Operate pipeline networks supplying hydrogen, steam, CO2, oxygen, and nitrogen to customers.
• Execute safety work permits, LOTO, confined-space controls, process safety, MOC, and environmental compliance activities.
• Support plant commissioning and monitor equipment, controls, production, quality, reliability, and customer supply requirements.
• Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance with engineering and maintenance teams, including shutdown activities.
• Report plant status across shifts, support investigations and root cause analysis, and communicate with customers at board level.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Chemical Process Operations preferred; a two-year technical associate certificate may be considered.
• Minimum 5 years of plant operations experience; knowledge of hydrogen, SMR, or acid gas removal units is advantageous.
• Knowledge of local environmental, health, and safety requirements.
• Ability to achieve Level 1 / Board Level competence within the expected 2–4 year progression period.
• Strong interpersonal, teamwork, diversity, and employee-involvement skills.
• Proficiency in spoken and written English is required.
