Technical Network Automation Engineer (DevOps)

What you will do

• Design and implement network automation playbooks, scripts, and templates for standard changes, provisioning, and configuration compliance across IT and OT networks.
• Select and establish the initial automation toolchain, including Git, CI/CD, Ansible or Terraform, and basic testing frameworks.
• Configure network monitoring and logging, onboard devices, define alert rules and dashboards, and integrate platforms with ITSM, CMDB, and DCIM systems where possible.
• Define and document operating procedures and runbooks for change requests, pipeline usage, and rollbacks.
• Support incident and problem management with diagnostics scripts, tooling, data exports, root-cause analysis, and post-incident reviews.

Requirements

• 5–7 years of experience in network engineering or operations, including hands-on responsibility for automation and monitoring.
• Experience in data-centre or mission-critical environments, preferably with ownership of tooling or automation components.
• Strong knowledge of switching, routing, firewalls, VPNs, high availability, and basic network segmentation.
• Practical Python and shell scripting skills for building automation, tools, and integrations without existing frameworks.
• Hands-on experience establishing a network automation or IaC stack from an early-stage starting point.
• CCNA or equivalent certification, plus an automation-focused certification such as Cisco DevNet, Terraform Associate, or Red Hat Ansible.

Nice to have

• Vendor firewall certification.
• OT/ICS security credentials or demonstrable project experience in OT networks.
