Senior DevSecOps Software Engineer (Aerospace & Defense)

Location: Farmingdale, New York, United States. On-site role supporting the Radar and Surveillance team. US citizenship is required for potential DoD Secret Clearance and access to ITAR-controlled data.

Salary: $122,655–$215,704 per year, with a possible annual or quarterly bonus. Alternative shifts may include a shift premium.

What you will do

• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for embedded-system build, testing, and deployment.
• Integrate DevSecOps tools for automated security checks and vulnerability assessments.
• Develop infrastructure for unit, component, and system verification testing.
• Collaborate with development, security, operations, and product teams throughout the software lifecycle.
• Document automation workflows, troubleshoot pipeline issues, and drive continuous improvement.
• Provide training and guidance on CI/CD, DevSecOps, and automation, including schedule and cost inputs.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, plus 10+ years of relevant experience.
• At least 3 years of DevOps experience and 3 years of scripting experience with Python or a similar language.
• Experience deploying CI/CD, DevSecOps, and automation on on-premises infrastructure.
• Experience with infrastructure as code and automation tools such as Terraform, Puppet, Ansible, or Chef.
• Experience across the full software development lifecycle and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Must have a background permitting the US Department of Defense to issue a Secret Clearance, including US citizenship; ITAR and export-control compliance is required.

Nice to have

• Experience with GitLab, Jenkins, Git Bash, Jira, or Artifactory.
• Experience supporting real-time embedded systems.
