UPS Commissioning Specialist

Location: Khazna Site, Ajman, United Arab Emirates; resident onsite assignment, 6 days per week on a 4x1 rotation

What you will do

• Verify UPS equipment, I/O cabinets, battery modules, and accessories against the approved Bill of Materials, reporting missing or non-compliant items.
• Support UPS and I/O cabinet installation, anchoring, busbar connections, cable termination, control wiring, and communication interfaces.
• Inspect and test battery modules, including serial number checks, voltage and impedance measurements, balancing, interconnection, and post-charging verification.
• Perform UPS start-up, energization, firmware updates, operating-mode checks, and functional performance tests.
• Verify output voltage, waveform, battery voltages, alarms, and operating parameters, and prepare start-up and testing reports.
• Support Level 4 and Level 5 testing through monitoring, troubleshooting, fault analysis, and technical recommendations.

Requirements

• Proven experience installing, testing, starting up, and commissioning UPS systems.
• Strong knowledge of UPS systems, battery cabinets, lithium battery modules, control wiring, and communication interfaces.
• Experience with battery inspections, voltage and impedance testing, balancing, autonomy tests, burn-in tests, and commissioning validation.
• Ability to read engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, installation manuals, and approved test procedures.
• Strong troubleshooting, reporting, technical documentation, and HSE skills for work on electrical systems.
• Fluent English is required; the assignment requires resident onsite work in Ajman, United Arab Emirates.
