Technical Project Manager (PlantPAx)

Location: Portland, Oregon, USA; local client-site representation is required, with willingness to travel 15%–30% across the USA and Canada.

Salary: $80,000–$95,000 per year, plus benefits, bonuses, and additional extra-hours payments.

What you will do

• Own automation project lifecycles from client opportunity identification and proposal development through design, commissioning, and handover.
• Represent hirify.global at Portland-area client sites, develop relationships, assess needs, and identify follow-on opportunities.
• Define project scope, budgets, timelines, resources, schedules, milestones, and risk mitigation plans.
• Contribute hands-on to PlantPAx DCS development, including process objects, faceplates, alarm management, and batch control sequences.
• Develop PLC/PAC programs in Studio 5000 Logix Designer and configure HMI/SCADA visualizations.
• Communicate project status and deliverables, prepare technical documentation, and collaborate with the engineering team.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree completed or nearing completion in computer, chemical, electrical, or mechatronics engineering, computer science, or related engineering technology.
• Hands-on PlantPAx DCS and Studio 5000 Logix Designer experience is strongly preferred.
• Understanding of process control fundamentals, including PID loop tuning, regulatory control, and batch sequencing.
• Interest or experience in project management, including scheduling, budgeting, and resource coordination.
• Strong client-facing communication skills and the ability to translate client needs into technical proposals.
• Valid driver’s license, full-time access to a personal vehicle, and willingness to travel 15%–30% across the USA and Canada.

Nice to have

• Experience with Inductive Automation Ignition, including Vision and Perspective.
• Familiarity with PlantPAx process objects, alarm management, and batch control.
• Experience with additional PLC, networking, HMI, SCADA, MES, database, or high-level programming platforms.
