Staff Accountant

hirify.global supports FOODSource, a Winchester-based manufacturing company specializing in the production and co-packing of specialty foods for retail, industrial, and food service clients. hirify.global produces and imports Mediterranean specialty foods, including olives, antipasti, spreads, and ingredients.

What you will do

• Prepare and post journal entries, maintain the general ledger, and complete monthly balance sheet and bank reconciliations.
• Support month-end and year-end closing and prepare internal and external financial statements.
• Track, value, and analyze inventory and associated costs, including supporting profitability, pricing, efficiency analysis, and physical inventory counts.
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable activities, including invoice processing, vendor payments, billing, and collections.
• Prepare audit documentation and tax filing information while maintaining compliance with regulations, GAAP, internal controls, and company policies.
• Perform variance analysis, recommend accounting procedure improvements, and manage fixed assets and depreciation schedules.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 1–3 years of professional accounting experience, preferably in food processing or manufacturing.
• Experience with a large payroll processing system such as ISolved, ADP, or Paychex.
• Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs.
• Solid understanding of GAAP and other accounting standards.
• Strong attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving abilities, organization, communication, and ability to meet strict deadlines.

Nice to have

• Experience with Sage 50, QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar accounting software.
• Experience in the food processing or manufacturing industry.
