Location: San Francisco, Washington, D.C., or New York, United States; at least two in-office days per week. Working hours are Monday to Friday, 8am–5pm, with a planned future on-call rotation. No relocation assistance is provided.
Salary: USD 146,000–198,000 per year, depending on experience and location. San Francisco: USD 153,000–191,000; Washington, D.C.: USD 146,000–183,000; New York: USD 159,000–198,000.

What you will do
- Monitor, collect, and analyze information to identify threats, risks, and emerging trends affecting personnel, operations, events, assets, and brand reputation.
- Conduct threat assessments and investigative research on threat actors, persons of concern, suspicious activity, and security incidents.
- Produce intelligence products, threat assessments, executive briefings, alerts, and analytical reports for decision-makers.
- Support executive protection, special events, travel monitoring, location-based assessments, and other security initiatives.
- Provide rapid intelligence support for requests and critical incident response.
- Maintain intelligence records, case management systems, and analytical databases while collaborating with security, investigations, crisis management, and business operations stakeholders.
Requirements
- Ability to work from San Francisco, Washington, D.C., or New York with at least two days per week in the office.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Security Studies, International Relations, Criminal Justice, Political Science, Intelligence Studies, Business Management, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
- 5+ years of experience in protective intelligence, threat assessment, intelligence analysis, investigations, or a related field.
- Experience conducting threat assessments and investigative research and producing high-quality analytical reports and intelligence products.
- Advanced knowledge of protective intelligence principles, investigative techniques, structured threat assessment frameworks, open-source intelligence, social media analysis, public records research, and online investigations.
- Excellent written and spoken English, analytical and critical-thinking skills, discretion with confidential information, and the ability to communicate risk clearly.
Nice to have
- Experience supporting security, intelligence, protective intelligence, trust and safety, or risk management programs in technology companies, digital-first organizations, or high-growth startups.
- Experience using artificial intelligence and emerging technologies to improve research, analysis, investigative workflows, reporting, and operational efficiency.
- Understanding of cognitive bias and its impact on intelligence analysis and decision-making.
