Product Security Engineer (Cybersecurity)

Location: London, United Kingdom; hybrid blended working with office attendance expected at least twice each month. Office locations include London, Cambridge, and Leeds.

Salary from £78,850 per year.

What you will do

• Partner with engineering squads and product teams to embed security into everyday software delivery.
• Support secure design and development, including shift-left practices and security reviews.
• Integrate code, dependency, and infrastructure-as-code security testing into CI/CD pipelines.
• Facilitate threat modelling and translate security policies into practical engineering guidance.
• Help teams interpret vulnerabilities, prioritise remediation, and manage security issues through normal delivery.
• Support and grow the Security Champions programme across engineering teams.

Requirements

• Strong foundation in cybersecurity engineering, secure design principles, and risk-based decision-making.
• Hands-on experience working with engineering teams, application architectures, code or design reviews, and security troubleshooting.
• Practical experience with public cloud environments, particularly AWS, and cloud-native systems.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code and delivery pipelines, such as Terraform and GitLab CI/CD.
• Understanding of vulnerability management, threat modelling, and security reviews.
• Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills, with an interest in security education and enablement.

Nice to have

• Training or certifications in secure software development, application security, cloud security, threat modelling, or security architecture.
• Exposure to DevSecOps practices and ongoing professional development in cybersecurity or software security.
