High School Drumline Coach

Location: Newark, New Jersey, USA; on-site coaching at Lincoln Park High School and travel to local performances.

Compensation: $8,000 annual stipend, paid monthly and adjusted according to completed responsibilities.

What you will do

• Launch and develop the high school drumline program.
• Teach percussion fundamentals, performance skills, choreography, cadences, and show music.
• Manage and coach a team of 15–25 high school students.
• Prepare students for showcases, competitions, pep rallies, and school events.
• Build team culture, accountability, leadership, and discipline.
• Travel with students to local performances.

Requirements

• Experience coaching or performing in drumline, marching band, HBCU-style band culture, or percussion ensembles.
• Strong leadership and classroom management skills.
• Ability to teach choreography and performance techniques.
• Passion for mentoring and developing young people.
• High energy, professionalism, and commitment to team growth.
• Availability for project sessions on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 2:15 p.m. to 3:15 p.m., with potential after-school practices.
