Lead TRS Mentor

What you will do

• Coach, mentor, and provide professional development to child care providers, teachers, and administrators.
• Deliver in-person and virtual training on early childhood education, Texas Rising Star, and related topics.
• Partner with providers to create and implement Continuous Quality Improvement Plans.
• Use data analysis, assessments, and coaching to improve instructional practices and provider quality.
• Prepare provider contracts, manage assigned caseloads, and maintain accurate records and case files.
• Complete reporting, compliance monitoring, community outreach, and communication of operational concerns.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, child development, special education, child psychology, educational psychology, elementary education, family and consumer sciences, or a related field.
• At least three years of experience in early childhood education, Head Start, Early Head Start, child care, or Pre-K through 3rd grade settings.
• Knowledge of child development, developmentally appropriate practices, and child care licensing standards.
• Strong organizational, documentation, communication, and case management skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and database systems.
• Willingness to complete Texas Rising Star Mentor certification requirements and maintain TECPDS Registered Trainer and Texas Rising Star Mentor certifications.
• Reliable transportation, a valid Texas driver’s license, an acceptable driving record, required background checks, and drug testing are mandatory.
