Software Engineer II, Client Platform (React)

Location: San Mateo, California, United States; hybrid work

Base pay: $163,000–$245,000 USD annually, with potential bonus eligibility.

What you will do

• Design, develop, test, and document React-based cross-platform applications.
• Build and maintain core application frameworks, shared libraries, and foundational components used by product and feature teams.
• Translate requirements from Product Owners and Product Managers into scalable, maintainable solutions.
• Define architecture and engineering practices focused on performance, accessibility, reliability, and responsive design.
• Write unit and component tests, participate in peer reviews, and prevent regressions through automated testing.
• Improve development workflows and explore emerging technologies through hackathons and Café Days.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
• 4+ years of development experience building user-facing applications or systems with JavaScript or TypeScript.
• Strong proficiency in React and experience creating and maintaining cross-platform applications.
• Experience with modern build and testing tools such as Webpack, Babel, Jest, or similar frameworks.
• Familiarity with GraphQL, RESTful APIs, Docker or other containerization technologies, CI/CD pipelines, and automated testing.
• Experience with Apple-ecosystem mobile applications, plus strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.

Nice to have

• Interest or experience applying AI/ML concepts to personalization, recommendation systems, intelligent user interfaces, or automated testing.
• Experience integrating AI-powered development tools, generative models, LLM-based automation, or related APIs.
