Data Architect (Lakehouse / Warehousing)

Location: Hybrid, Alexandria, Virginia, across the Mid-Atlantic Region; U.S. citizenship required.

What you will do

• Design and guide implementation of enterprise data architecture supporting federal HR modernization.
• Define architecture standards and implementation patterns for data warehouses, data lakes, and lakehouses.
• Assess current-state data environments and define target-state models aligned with analytics, interoperability, reporting, and compliance requirements.
• Support migration planning, including sequencing, source-to-target mapping, and platform option assessments.
• Enable advanced analytics, business intelligence, workflow integration, and data-driven decision-making.
• Guide technical decisions and collaborate on secure, compliant solutions for government clients.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, data engineering, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in data architecture, enterprise data design, and modernization planning.
• Experience with structured and semi-structured data environments.
• Knowledge of data architecture, data warehousing, data lakes, lakehouse design, data modeling, migration planning, metadata strategy, and analytics enablement.
• Must be a United States citizen; visa sponsorship, including H-1B and TN sponsorship, is not available.
• Experience with federal data constraints and modern cloud data platforms is preferred.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with FedRAMP-compliant platforms such as Databricks and Snowflake.
• Experience with ServiceNow and SAP SuccessFactors.
• Advanced degree or cloud and data certifications.
• Government and public services sector experience.
