TL;DR
Regulatory Compliance Specialist (Energy): Delivering independent engineering advisory services for U.S. energy infrastructure financing with an accent on regulatory obligations, permitting status, compliance risks, and lender-ready documentation. Location: Remote within the United States with on-site meetings expected; Washington, DC and project sites nationwide

What you will do

  • Provide independent engineering advisory support for energy infrastructure technical due diligence, credit evaluation, lifecycle monitoring, and assurance activities.
  • Assess federal, state, and local regulatory obligations, permitting status, operational commitments, and compliance risks for oil and gas, power, utility, and infrastructure projects.
  • Review project documentation, data rooms, technical and commercial interfaces, assumptions, conditions precedent evidence, and disbursement readiness.
  • Prepare regulatory matrices, permit-status reviews, compliance risk registers, agency-facing documentation, and independent engineer reports.
  • Coordinate with engineering, finance, legal, construction, operations, environmental, HSE, and project controls stakeholders.
  • Support site observations, borrower and contractor interviews, monitoring meetings, draw-package checks, issue closure, and completion certification.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of relevant engineering, construction, operations, compliance, risk, finance, or energy infrastructure advisory experience.
  • Experience with oil and gas, power, utilities, or large-scale infrastructure projects for owners, lenders, independent engineers, or federal clients.
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, environmental science, construction management, business, risk management, finance, or a related field.
  • Knowledge of technical due diligence, risk assessment, regulatory requirements, permitting, operational commitments, report writing, and stakeholder coordination.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools, especially Excel; familiarity with Access, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Adobe Acrobat, data analytics tools, and Visio.
  • Ability to work remotely within the United States and attend on-site meetings or project-site activities nationwide.

Nice to have

  • PMP, CQA, CIA, ISO Lead Auditor, CHMM, CSP, or PMI-RMP certification.
  • Experience supporting DOE or Loan Programs Office-style documentation and financing engagements.
