Industrial Hygiene Manager (Lithium-Ion Battery Manufacturing)

Location: Onsite in De Soto, Kansas, United States

Panasonic Energy produces lithium-ion batteries for electric vehicles and is expanding a large-scale manufacturing facility in Kansas.

What you will do

• Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of industrial hygiene programs across manufacturing operations.
• Direct exposure assessments, workplace monitoring, hazard evaluations, sampling strategies, and exposure-data analysis.
• Provide technical guidance on ventilation, personal protective equipment, respiratory protection, and other exposure controls.
• Maintain occupational health records, regulatory reports, audits, inspections, and compliance documentation.
• Lead incident investigations, root cause analyses, emergency-response support, and corrective-action programs.
• Supervise, coach, and develop Industrial Hygiene Specialists and collaborate with production, engineering, EHS, medical, and leadership teams.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in industrial hygiene, occupational safety and health, EHS, environmental science, engineering, or a related technical field; relevant experience may substitute.
• 5+ years of progressive leadership experience in industrial hygiene, occupational health and safety, or regulatory compliance within manufacturing or another high-hazard environment.
• Experience managing industrial hygiene programs, exposure monitoring, hazard evaluations, incident investigations, and occupational health risk mitigation.
• Knowledge of OSHA, NIOSH, ACGIH, ANSI, NFPA, and applicable occupational health regulations and standards.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
• Working-level English proficiency is required. Ability to respond to site emergencies on a 24/7 basis is also required.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree or certifications such as CIH, CSP, or CHMM.
• Experience with ISO 45001, lithium-ion battery manufacturing, chemical processing, semiconductor manufacturing, or similar high-hazard operations.
• Experience leading industrial hygiene or cross-functional EHS teams.
• Experience with VelocityEHS, Cority, Enablon, Power BI, Tableau, or similar platforms.
