Configuration Management Specialist (Energy Infrastructure)

Location: Remote within the USA with on-site meetings expected; Washington, DC and project sites nationwide

What you will do

• Support independent engineering advisory services for the U.S. Department of Energy Loan Programs Office and Energy Dominance Financing program.
• Maintain design baselines, configuration registers, change-control logs, document configurations, technical assumptions, and configuration status records.
• Review project documentation, data rooms, technical and commercial interfaces, risk mitigations, conditions precedent evidence, and disbursement-readiness materials.
• Prepare traceable, technically defensible work products, including configuration records, revision-control documentation, compliance assessments, and independent engineer reports.
• Coordinate with engineering, finance, legal, construction, operations, environmental, HSE, and project-controls stakeholders.
• Support borrower and contractor interviews, site observations, monitoring meetings, risk-register updates, draw-package checks, and issue-closure tracking.

Requirements

• Must be located in the United States; remote work is within the USA and on-site meetings or project-site work may be required.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, environmental science, construction management, business, risk management, finance, or a related field.
• 3–7 years of relevant experience in technical analysis, project controls, configuration management, finance, or energy infrastructure support.
• Experience with independent engineering review, technical due diligence, risk assessment, design baselines, document control, change logs, and technical assumptions.
• Strong analytical judgment, attention to detail, documentation discipline, issue escalation, stakeholder coordination, and report-writing skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office, especially Excel; familiarity with Access, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Adobe Acrobat, data analytics tools, and Visio.

Nice to have

• DOE or Loan Programs Office experience, or exposure to federal energy programs.
• Experience in oil and gas, power, utilities, or other energy infrastructure sectors.
• Certifications such as PMP, CQA, CIA, ISO Lead Auditor, CHMM, CSP, or PMI-RMP.
