Associate Specialist, Patient Access

Location: Onsite at Ardent - Hillcrest South in Tulsa, Oklahoma, United States

Salary: $18.65–$19.90 per hour, based on experience

What you will do

• Perform patient admissions, assign accurate medical record numbers, collect demographic and insurance information, and process physician orders.
• Verify insurance eligibility and benefits, select insurance plan codes, support pre-registration, and assist with clean claim processing.
• Collect point-of-service payments, explain payment plan options, and process consent, Medicare, observation, and patient education forms.
• Conduct account audits, quality checks, reporting, and documentation to maintain accurate and compliant records.
• Develop training materials, provide continuing education, and create staff schedules for the patient access department.
• Provide on-call and after-hours support, including coverage for unscheduled staffing needs.

Requirements

• 1–3 years of relevant experience.
• Associate degree or equivalent experience.
• Understanding of revenue cycle processes, including admissions, billing, payments, and denials.
• Knowledge of patient insurance processes, authorizations, benefits verification, and health insurance requirements.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, CPT, or procedure codes.
• Ability to work the specified Tuesday–Saturday and overnight shifts and work onsite in Tulsa.
