Senior Data Engineer

Location: Remote within Europe; compatible with EST time zone working hours

What you will do

• Build and operate reliable, analytics-ready data systems and production data pipelines.
• Develop a long-term technical vision and strategy for data platform components, frameworks, and libraries.
• Integrate data from external APIs and operate batch ELT pipelines with data warehouses.
• Improve engineering and operational excellence through monitoring, debugging, incident response, and production quality practices.
• Mentor engineers and create documentation that supports collaboration and knowledge sharing.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in data engineering or closely related roles.
• Strong production data pipeline development and maintenance experience using Python, plus advanced SQL skills.
• Experience with external API integrations, batch ELT pipelines, data warehouses, and analytics data modeling.
• Experience with Airflow and familiarity with dbt or similar transformation tools.
• Experience owning production systems, including monitoring, debugging, and incident response.
• Experience with a cloud environment such as GCP, CI/CD practices, GitHub, and collaborative iterative development.

Nice to have

• Experience designing or migrating pipelines toward incremental loading patterns.
• Experience with Terraform, data quality tooling, testing, or observability.
• Exposure to BI tools and analytics workflows.
• Ability to learn and adopt new tools and technologies quickly.
