Medical AI Researcher (Medical Imaging AI)

Location: On-site in San Francisco, CA; candidates must work from the San Francisco office

Salary: $150,000–$230,000 USD annually

hirify.global conducts independent evaluations of medical imaging AI systems to assess their clinical reliability and support medical imaging companies preparing FDA submissions.

What you will do

• Lead end-to-end customer engagements, including meetings, evaluation questions, and investigation scoping.
• Design and execute investigations into model behavior, generalization, failure modes, and uncertainty.
• Analyze DICOM/PACS workflows and radiology pipelines.
• Translate findings into actionable evaluation evidence for regulatory and internal audiences.
• Prepare clear, defensible reports and presentations under tight timelines.
• Collaborate with customers and cross-functional teams on go/no-go decisions and product strategy.

Requirements

• Hands-on expertise in medical imaging workflows and integration, including DICOM/PACS and radiology pipelines
• Experience integrating ML models into clinical systems
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Several years of experience in ML evaluation or medical imaging AI.
• Practical MLOps and model evaluation experience, including reproducible evaluation pipelines, model validation, and monitoring.
• Proficiency in Python and common ML frameworks, plus familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes.

Nice to have

• Experience with regulatory considerations for medical AI, including FDA submissions such as 510(k) or De Novo.
• Healthcare industry experience.
