MTS V, Software (C/C++/Go, AWS)

Location: Hybrid in Irvine, California, United States. Valid authorization to work in the U.S. is required.

Salary: $133,000–$223,000 per year, plus potential discretionary bonuses and incentives.

What you will do

• Translate complex functional and system specifications into software for large-scale avionics and interfacing systems.
• Develop functional block diagrams, data and logic flows, system architectures, implementation plans, and engineering documentation.
• Code, integrate, test, debug, and refine software, including development and test tools.
• Design cloud-native and hybrid edge-to-cloud architectures connecting onboard IFEC systems with AWS platforms.
• Lead cloud migration and modernization, including legacy-system assessment, microservices or serverless refactoring, and cutover planning.
• Lead technical work across multifunctional teams, support system testing and audits, and mentor other engineers.

Requirements

• 10+ years of software development experience with a bachelor's degree in computer science, computer engineering, or software engineering; alternatively, 8+ years with a master's or PhD, or 14+ years of related experience in lieu of a degree.
• Expert-level C, C++, Golang, or similar programming experience in a Linux environment, including TCP/IP network programming and device drivers.
• Experience designing and maintaining AWS cloud-native architectures using services such as EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda, S3, RDS/DynamoDB, API Gateway, IoT Core, and Kinesis.
• Experience with embedded systems, distributed processors, real-time behavior, performance, reliability, and complex system-level problem solving.
• Strong systems engineering, architecture, project planning, technical communication, and leadership skills.
• Must have valid authorization to work in the United States.

Nice to have

• Familiarity with network security methodologies.
• Experience developing multimedia applications, including streaming audio/video servers and clients.
