Founding AI/ML Engineer (Computer Vision)

Location: On-site in San Francisco, California, USA. Candidates must be based in San Francisco or willing to relocate. US citizenship is required.

Base salary: $120,000–$180,000 USD annually. Equity is available as part of the founding team package.

What you will do

• Design, build, and iterate on computer vision and AI systems for the product’s intelligence layer.
• Develop systems that parse construction blueprints and automate material takeoffs and cost estimation.
• Apply computer vision models, LLMs, and AI tools to production problems.
• Prototype quickly, collect user feedback, and drive rapid improvement cycles.
• Coordinate multiple ML models within a model-garden architecture.
• Handle the broad, hands-on work required at the earliest stage of product development.

Requirements

• Hands-on applied computer vision and machine learning experience, including shipping AI products to real users in production.
• Strong Python skills and a foundation in machine learning and deep learning.
• Ability to take ambiguous problems from 0 to 1 and drive them to working systems.
• Growth-oriented mindset with strong learning velocity.
• Clear, empathetic communication and the ability to explain tradeoffs and blockers honestly.
• US citizenship is required; visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Experience in construction.
• Founding experience or experience building a product that customers paid for.
• Background in high-caliber AI/ML or autonomy teams, such as self-driving, robotics, research labs, or leading AI companies.
