Research Scientist (AI/Healthcare)

Location: Hybrid in the New York Flatiron office or Boston; remote in Ireland

Salary: $165,000–$220,000 estimated base salary, plus equity and bonus opportunities.

What you will do

• Evaluate AI models on clinical tasks using automated benchmarks and human assessments to support safety and efficacy.
• Build end-to-end health-focused AI models, including pre-training and post-training workflows.
• Design and develop agentic systems for patients and physicians, including clinical decision-support workflows.
• Create experiments, prototypes, and simulations to test hypotheses and measure research impact.
• Design new architectures and apply machine learning, natural language processing, and agentic systems to real-world healthcare problems.
• Publish research findings and share research trends and practices across teams.

Requirements

• PhD in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of coding experience with Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, or R.
• 2+ years of experience owning and initiating research agendas.
• Experience with agentic generative AI systems, large language models, and evaluation methodologies.
• Publications in leading AI/ML conferences or journals such as NeurIPS, ICML, ICLR, or CVPR.
• Prior healthcare research or clinical-data experience, with familiarity with FHIR and OMOP healthcare data formats.
