AR&D Scientist I/II (Pharmaceutical Biotechnology)

Location: Onsite laboratory-based position at the Monmouth Junction, New Jersey headquarters, United States

Salary: Scientist I — $65,000–$85,000 annually; Scientist II — $80,000–$100,000 annually

What you will do

• Perform laboratory analyses of raw materials, in-process, finished-product, and stability samples.
• Set up, operate, maintain, and calibrate analytical instruments, including HPLC, GC, UV/Vis, IR, TLC, ICP-MS, LC-MS, automatic titration, and dissolution equipment.
• Develop analytical methods and troubleshoot existing methods supporting product development and sample testing.
• Design and execute physical characterization, reverse-engineering, and pre-formulation studies.
• Analyze stability trends and investigate out-of-specification and out-of-trend results.
• Prepare laboratory documentation, SOPs, protocols, method development reports, and technical reports.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or a related science field with 3+ years of relevant experience for Scientist I or 4+ years for Scientist II.
• Alternatively, a master’s degree with 0–3 years of relevant experience for Scientist I, 2+ years for Scientist II, or a PhD with 0–1 years of relevant experience for Scientist II.
• Experience in analytical or method development or method validation in the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or academic research field.
• Knowledge of wet chemistry, physical testing, analytical calculations, sample preparation, and laboratory documentation.
• Ability to follow SOPs and comply with cGDP, cGLP, cGMP, and applicable laws.
• Ability to lift up to 30 lbs, use PPE, and stand for extended periods in a laboratory environment.
