Estimator (Construction)

Location: Remote from Metro Manila, Philippines; working New Zealand business hours from 10:00 AM NZST, with New Zealand public holidays observed.

Salary: PHP 60,000–80,000 per month.

A growing New Zealand construction enterprise delivering residential builds, renovations, extensions, concrete work, landscaping, and general civil projects.

What you will do

• Lead end-to-end tendering and prepare cost estimates and proposals for residential, landscaping, concrete, and renovation projects.
• Complete material, labor, plant, and subcontractor take-offs from architectural plans, engineering drawings, and scope documents.
• Identify project risks, scope gaps, exclusions, and value-engineering opportunities before submission.
• Prepare budget breakdowns, margin evaluations, bills of quantities, and sub-trade scope breakdowns.
• Value scope variations and post-award design changes, then review project costs against initial estimates.
• Improve Excel estimating sheets, rate cards, tender tracking, historical pricing databases, and cloud estimating software workflows.

Requirements

• Proven experience as an Estimator or Quantity Surveyor in residential or general building.
• Deep knowledge of construction methodologies, trade sequencing, and New Zealand material and subcontractor pricing.
• Ability to read, interpret, and take off complex architectural and structural drawings.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with estimating and take-off software is desirable.
• Strong organization and autonomy when managing multiple tenders with minimal supervision.
• Excellent English communication skills for direct collaboration with leadership and sub-trades.
