Java Developer (APIM, MongoDB)

Location: Hybrid in Reston, Virginia, with one onsite day per week required; final-round face-to-face interview required.

What you will do

• Build applications and web services backed by MongoDB and other cloud databases.
• Create APIs in cloud and EKS environments and onboard them to an APIM gateway such as IBM API Connect.
• Produce design documents, write clean scalable code, conduct code reviews, and perform unit testing.
• Develop secure API solutions with certificate-based communication and multiple authentication methods.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum planning, estimation, sprint execution, and SDLC activities.
• Mentor other developers and provide guidance on software development best practices.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience as a Java Developer in software design, development, testing, and requirements management.
• Bachelor's degree, or an additional four years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.
• Strong hands-on experience with Java/J2EE, Spring, Spring Boot, JDBC, Hibernate, JMS, XML, and XSLT.
• Experience building web services with MongoDB as the backend and onboarding web services to an APIM platform, preferably IBM API Connect.
• Strong knowledge of REST APIs, SOAP, API architecture, object-oriented design, and design patterns.
• Agile/Scrum experience and expertise in secure, scalable API development, debugging, and troubleshooting.
