Infrastructure Architect (VMware)

Location: Remote within the United States; legally authorized U.S. work authorization required.

Salary: $150,000 yearly.

What you will do

• Lead infrastructure discovery and cloud readiness assessments across compute, storage, networking, backup, and security layers.
• Analyze current-state architecture, utilization, dependencies, and migration complexity across VMware and virtual machine environments.
• Define AWS target infrastructure designs and migration approaches for VMware and VM workloads.
• Identify technical debt remediation needs, migration risks, and inputs for migration wave sequencing.
• Collaborate with infrastructure, cloud, security, and application teams on migration planning.
• Present technical findings, recommendations, risks, and dependencies to stakeholders.

Requirements

• 12–15 years of infrastructure architecture or engineering experience.
• Strong experience with AWS Infrastructure Services.
• Strong experience with infrastructure discovery and cloud readiness assessments.
• Experience with VMware or VM environments, storage, networking, backup, and security.
• Experience with current-state architecture assessment, dependency mapping, migration complexity, and risk analysis.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Nice to have

• Experience with RVTools, Device42, Cloudamize, AWS Migration Evaluator, Turbonomic, Flexera, or ServiceNow CMDB.
• Experience supporting large-scale VMware-to-AWS migration initiatives.
• Experience developing cloud migration strategies and target-state infrastructure designs.
• Experience working across infrastructure, cloud, storage, network, backup, and security teams.
