TL;DR
Fleet Reliability Intern (Space Infrastructure): Designing, building, and deploying electrical and mechanical hardware for a global network of phased array ground stations with an accent on ground support equipment, wire harnesses, and field reliability. Focus on owning hardware projects from inception through production and deployment, troubleshooting critical site operations, and coordinating with engineering, manufacturing, and external partners.

Location: Torrance, California; ability to relocate to Los Angeles, California for 12 weeks during Summer 2026 required

Salary: $36 per hour

hirify.global is a space infrastructure company developing phased array ground stations and communications technology for satellite missions.

What you will do

  • Own a ground station hardware project from initial design through production and field deployment.
  • Build ground support equipment, wire harnesses, and equipment test setups.
  • Support site operations for customer-serving ground stations worldwide.
  • Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve electrical and mechanical issues with urgency.
  • Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, software, and manufacturing engineers, mentors, technicians, management, and external companies.

Requirements

  • Enrollment in a bachelor's or graduate program in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field.
  • Ability to work in a professional team environment and communicate directly with technical and external stakeholders.
  • Must meet U.S. Government ITAR eligibility requirements: U.S. citizenship, U.S. lawful permanent residence, protected individual status, or eligibility to obtain the required authorizations.

Nice to have

  • GPA of 3.5 or higher.
  • Hands-on experience designing, building, and testing complex electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Participation in FSAE, rocket clubs, robotics clubs, IEEE, college athletics, or similar activities.
  • Leadership experience.
