Location: Long Beach, California, United States. This position is based at hirify.global's global headquarters and is for candidates seeking to work in a U.S. office. U.S. citizenship, lawful permanent residence, refugee or asylum status, or eligibility to obtain required U.S. export authorizations is required under ITAR regulations.

Base salary: $141,800–$212,600 USD annually. Total compensation, including equity: $174,300–$269,875 USD annually.

What you will do

  • Design and develop electrical harness systems for spacecraft, including connectors, backshells, wires, shielding, and routing.
  • Generate wiring diagrams, pinout tables, interface definitions, fabrication drawings, and other harness documentation.
  • Interpret spacecraft electrical architectures and define interfaces with systems engineering.
  • Create and maintain harness bills of materials in PLM tools.
  • Support harness fabrication, electrical testing, inspection, spacecraft integration, and acceptance verification.
  • Collaborate with mechanical engineering, systems engineering, and assembly, integration, and test teams to resolve design and integration issues.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in aerospace, mechanical, electrical, or another engineering discipline.
  • 8+ years of electrical engineering or avionics experience.
  • Experience applying electrical design principles to performance, reliability, and manufacturability requirements.
  • Ability to support design reviews and troubleshoot electrical harness issues during fabrication, integration, and testing.
  • Must meet U.S. ITAR eligibility requirements for work in a U.S. office.

Nice to have

  • Advanced engineering degree and experience in aerospace or defense.
  • Satellite development or satellite operations experience.
  • Knowledge of power distribution, signal integrity, grounding, communication systems, and interfaces such as RS-422, SPI, Ethernet, and CAN bus.
  • Experience with Capital Essentials, NX, Teamcenter, JAMA, NASA-STD-8739.4, or IPC/WHMA-A-620.
  • Experience with continuity, insulation resistance, and functional testing; ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance.
