Mechanical Quality Inspector

Location: Brighton, Colorado, United States; on-site

Salary: $29.00–$33.00 per hour plus bonus. Restricted Stock Units are included in all offers.

What you will do

• Perform incoming inspections of raw materials, structural steel, and sub-assemblies against purchase orders, engineering specifications, drawings, certificates of compliance, and supplier inspection reports.
• Conduct in-process hold-point inspections during structural fabrication and enclosure assembly, verifying alignment and structural fit-up.
• Complete pre-shipment inspections of modular units, including mechanical fit-and-finish, labeling, traceability, shipping bracing, weatherproofing, and loose-ship inventories.
• Identify, tag, and document non-conforming items and collaborate with Engineering, Production, and Quality Leadership on root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Maintain inspection records, hold-point sign-offs, torque logs, photo documentation, shipping checklists, and unit genealogy.
• Enforce ISO 9001 and applicable product and building code requirements while supporting Lean and 5S improvements.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required; a technical certificate or associate’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Industrial Technology is preferred.
• 5+ years of mechanical and/or electrical quality inspection experience in heavy manufacturing, a panel shop, or modular integration; an associate’s degree substitutes for two years of experience.
• Advanced ability to interpret mechanical assembly drawings, structural steel prints, piping/HVAC diagrams, and bills of materials.
• Experience with precision measuring tools, dimensional inspections, structural steel and high-strength bolting, material test reports, visual weld inspection, WPS review, and coating dry film thickness measurements.
• Experience inspecting modular enclosures, lifting points, doors, weather seals, gaskets, and IP/NEMA sealing.
• Proficiency with MS Office or Google Workspace, digital QMS, and ERP software; ability to work at heights, climb ladders, and access confined or hard-to-reach spaces. This is a safety-sensitive position requiring participation in company safety, drug, and alcohol programs.

Nice to have

• ICC Structural Steel and Bolting Special Inspector, AWS Certified Weld Inspector, NDE, NACE/AMPP, ASQ Certified Quality Inspector, or Lean Six Sigma certification.
• Direct experience with AISC 360, AWS D1.1, and IBC specifications.
• Experience with X-ray diffraction, microscopic analysis, forklifts, overhead cranes, rigging equipment, or electrical standards including IEC, NEC, NFPA, IEEE, NEMA, and NETA.
