SAP HANA Engineer (SAP HANA): Designing and optimizing HANA-native data models and analytical objects for S/4HANA, BW/4HANA, and standalone HANA platforms with an accent on calculation views, CDS views, AMDPs, SQLScript, and performance tuning. Focus on diagnosing complex HANA bottlenecks, designing replication and security models, planning system capacity, and integrating HANA applications across SAP landscapes.
Location: 100% remote within the United States
Salary: $82,000–$104,000 annually

What you will do
- Design and develop performant HANA-native calculation views, CDS views, AMDPs, and SQLScript procedures.
- Translate business and analytics requirements into maintainable data models for analytical and transactional workloads.
- Optimize queries, joins, aggregations, partitioning, pruning, and parallelization to improve HANA performance.
- Lead performance reviews, audits, capacity planning, and sizing using HANA Studio Plan Visualizer, ST04, ST05, and DBACOCKPIT.
- Design replication and data-tiering scenarios using SLT, SDI, SDA, Native Storage Extension, and dynamic tiering.
- Collaborate with Basis, ABAP, and analytics teams, maintain technical documentation, and mentor junior developers.
Requirements
- U.S. work authorization is required; applicants may be U.S. citizens, Green Card holders, EAD holders, or H-1B transfer candidates.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- At least five years of SAP HANA development experience; the position listing specifies 7+ years of experience.
- Hands-on expertise with calculation views, CDS views, AMDPs, SQLScript, strong SQL, and HANA performance-tuning methodologies.
- Experience with HANA architecture, replication tools such as SLT, SDI, and SDA, and security models including analytic privileges and roles.
- Familiarity with S/4HANA embedded analytics or BW/4HANA modeling, plus strong troubleshooting, communication, and documentation skills.
Nice to have
- SAP-certified HANA modeling or development credentials.
- Experience with HANA Native Storage Extension, dynamic tiering, large-scale migrations, or upgrades.
- Exposure to HANA Cloud, SAP Datasphere, BTP analytics tooling, or SAC.
