TL;DR
PTC Java Engineer (Windchill): Building and optimizing deep Windchill customizations with Java, PTC APIs, services, workflows, data models, and client-side extensions with an accent on upgrade-friendly platform integration and performance engineering. Focus on designing low-level services and asynchronous processes, migrating legacy customizations, tuning queries and caching, and supporting production stability.
Location: 100% Remote within the United States
Salary: $100,000–$150,000 annually

What you will do
- Design and develop advanced Java customizations within Windchill, including services, listeners, processors, validators, helpers, workflows, and robot delegates.
- Extend the Windchill data model with custom types, attributes, and relationships using Type and Attribute Management.
- Build JSP and HTML extensions, including custom tables, actions, and wizard pages.
- Develop custom queues and background processes for asynchronous tasks.
- Optimize customization performance through profiling, query tuning, and caching strategies while following upgrade-friendly PTC practices.
- Lead legacy customization migrations, conduct code and design reviews, support production incidents, maintain technical documentation, and mentor junior and mid-level engineers.
Requirements
- 5+ years of Java development experience focused on Windchill customization; the position requests 6+ years of experience.
- Deep hands-on experience with the Windchill Java API, customization frameworks, data model, lifecycle, and workflow internals.
- Strong Java object-oriented design and performance-engineering skills.
- Experience with JSP, HTML, Windchill client-side customization, and Type and Attribute Management.
- Strong SQL skills with Oracle or SQL Server experience.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, plus experience supporting Windchill upgrades.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States as a U.S. citizen, Green Card holder, EAD holder, or H-1B transfer candidate. New H-1B visa petitions cannot be sponsored.

- Windchill RV&S customization exposure.
- CI/CD tooling experience for Windchill.
- Experience operating Windchill in the cloud.
