Senior Java Developer

Location: Newark, California — 100% onsite; local candidates only

Rate: $80/hour maximum

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade Java applications.
• Deliver new features in collaboration with cross-functional and geographically distributed teams.
• Improve application performance, scalability, reliability, and code quality.
• Troubleshoot issues and follow established release processes.
• Prepare high-level and low-level technical design documentation, including UML diagrams.
• Participate in code reviews, process improvements, and mentoring.

Requirements

• 8–15 years of software development experience.
• Strong hands-on experience with Java 8+, Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Spring Security, Hibernate, JPA, JDBC, Servlet, JSP, SQL, and RESTful web services.
• Experience with JavaScript frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.js, plus HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and SQL web development.
• Ability to create high-level and low-level design documentation and use Lucidchart for UML diagrams.
• Strong communication and customer interaction skills, with a team-oriented approach and mentoring capabilities.
• Must be a local candidate available to work onsite in Newark, California.

Nice to have

• Struts 1.2, EJB, MQ, WebSphere 9, JBoss 7, DB2, and AWS experience.
• Manufacturing domain knowledge.
• Experience using approved GenAI tools for design, development, and reverse engineering.
• Ability to quickly learn new technologies and adapt to changing requirements.
