Cloud Network Engineer I

Location: Anchorage, Alaska, United States; remote work eligible with restrictions

What you will do

• Design, implement, and maintain physical and virtual networks across data centers, campus LANs, internet edge, branch offices, and hybrid cloud environments.
• Develop automation and continuous delivery workflows for repeatable, reliable network infrastructure deployments.
• Configure and support firewalls, load balancers, routers, switches, software-defined networking, and virtualized network functions.
• Monitor performance, troubleshoot Layer 2 and Layer 3 outages, manage escalations, and schedule network updates.
• Build tools for deployment and testing, maintain technical documentation, and provide operational reports.
• Coordinate with project management, engineering, architecture, and DevOps teams while mentoring junior engineers and technicians.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent and a bachelor's degree in computer technologies, network engineering, or a related field.
• At least four years of relevant experience in cloud networking, multi-cloud networking, or moderate-to-complex data center network management.
• Knowledge of IP addressing, networking protocols, routing, physical and virtual network infrastructure, and software-defined data centers.
• Experience diagnosing Layer 2 and Layer 3 network problems and administering 24/7 server environments.
• Strong automation, scripting, continuous integration and delivery, documentation, organization, and time-management skills.
• Ability to work assigned shifts, provide occasional after-hours support, and travel between locations when required.

Nice to have

• Cisco, F5, Aruba, Palo Alto, or VMware certifications.
• Telecommunications experience or other telecom and job-specific certifications.
