Sr. Principal Architect - Connectivity

Location: Irvine, California; hybrid or onsite work. Valid authorization to work in the United States is required.

Salary: $205,000–$343,000 annually.

What you will do

• Define and drive the global Connectivity architecture vision across hardware and software systems.
• Set technical direction for high-performance, low-latency in-flight entertainment and connectivity platforms.
• Design content management and delivery solutions that improve system performance and the passenger experience.
• Drive cloud-native, scalable, resilient, and distributed architectures across connectivity services.
• Lead architectural strategy, governance, roadmaps, and technical initiatives in partnership with Product Management and engineering leadership.
• Act as the senior technical authority for complex cross-system issues, mentor senior architects, and influence enterprise technology investments.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; an advanced degree is strongly preferred.
• 15+ years of software development experience and significant systems or solution architecture experience.
• Experience with global connectivity providers, airline customers, connectivity systems, SATCOM, or aviation platforms.
• Expertise in low-latency systems design, performance optimization, scalability, reliability, and end-to-end hardware/software integration.
• Expertise in C++, Java, and Go, plus extensive experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Strong knowledge of distributed systems, cloud-native platforms, satellite communications, multi-orbit technologies, content management systems, edge systems, and Git or SVN.

Nice to have

• Experience with in-flight connectivity or in-flight entertainment systems.
• Familiarity with aviation regulatory and certification environments.
