Web and Digital Studio Lead (Associate I) (Fullstack)

Location: Seattle, Washington, United States; hybrid schedule with most employees working from home three days per week and regular in-office days.

Base salary: $124,000–$134,000 per year.

What you will do

• Lead full-stack development of websites, web applications, dashboards, calculators, and data-driven tools from specifications through deployment.
• Define technical architecture covering front-end and back-end frameworks, databases, APIs, hosting, security, analytics, and data integrations.
• Build interactive data visualizations and integrate GIS data, web mapping platforms, external databases, CRMs, CDPs, and marketing platforms.
• Develop or coordinate Python-based data processing, automation workflows, and APIs while ensuring accessibility and responsive quality.
• Lead and mentor the Digital Studio team, manage workloads and performance feedback, and provide technical escalation support.
• Oversee contractors and vendors, manage digital subscriptions and inventories, and support proposals, budgets, reusable components, and development standards.

Requirements

• 7+ years of professional full-stack web development experience, including leadership of complex digital projects from scoping through deployment.
• People management experience and experience overseeing technical contractors or vendors.
• Expertise with VS Code or similar tools, Git/GitHub, Docker, WSL or macOS, and CI/CD workflows.
• Advanced experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js, CSS/SASS, and modern frameworks such as Vue, Nuxt, Astro, or Vite.
• Working to advanced Python experience with FastAPI or Django, plus experience with GIS/web mapping platforms such as ArcGIS or Mapbox and visualization tools such as Tableau.
• Strong client-facing, consultative, communication, requirements-gathering, and technical solution skills; interest in sustainable transportation, transportation demand management, or city planning.

Nice to have

• PHP experience.
• Experience with Figma and Adobe Creative Cloud.
• Bachelor’s or associate’s degree in computer science, software engineering, information technology, or a related field.
