Lead Full Stack Software Engineer (AdTech)

Location: United States — Durham; hybrid work environment, with only candidates local to the posting location considered.

What you will do

• Design and build full-stack features for campaign management, reporting, audience and asset tooling, and marketplace optimization.
• Develop responsive web front ends, scalable backend services, and APIs within a unified product architecture.
• Choose appropriate technologies across a polyglot stack and place complex computation, data modeling, and algorithms in robust backend services.
• Own services in production, including testing, observability, performance, reliability, and on-call responsibilities.
• Collaborate with product leads and stakeholders on scope, estimation, and technical decisions.
• Mentor engineers and improve standards through code review, automation, and pragmatic architecture.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience building and shipping production platforms, with strong backend architecture, system design, and code optimization experience.
• Strong knowledge of algorithms and data structures, with experience solving complex data-processing or resource-optimization problems.
• Production experience with more than one language or ecosystem, such as TypeScript/JavaScript, Java, Kotlin, Python, Go, Scala, or C++.
• Experience with modern frontend frameworks such as React, backend service design, and relational or distributed data stores including MySQL or PostgreSQL.
• Strong fundamentals in API design, data modeling, testing, and system design.
• Must be local to Durham, United States, for the hybrid work arrangement.

Nice to have

• Experience with AWS or GCP, containers, and CI/CD.
• Exposure to AdTech, dashboards or BI surfaces, and high-throughput data-driven products.
• Experience integrating ML or data services into product workflows.
