Senior Software Engineer, Foundations (Python)

Location: Must be located in the San Francisco or New York area and open to working in office.

Salary: $200,000–$250,000 annually, plus benefits, possible equity, and possible bonus.

What you will do

• Own projects that improve the reliability, performance, and scalability of the data platform.
• Build and enhance systems that ingest, process, and enrich high volumes of customer data with low latency.
• Work across datastores, orchestrated data pipelines, connection, authorization, and notification layers.
• Extend existing architectural patterns and propose new solutions for complex technical problems.
• Participate in production incident response and identify recurring failure patterns.
• Collaborate with engineers, the deployment team, and users from design through production rollout.

Requirements

• Computer Science degree, related degree, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience.
• Experience with distributed systems or data-intensive services, including data pipelines, relational or search datastores, and message queues.
• Experience taking projects from design through production rollout and shipping production-grade software.
• Ability to write robust, well-tested, well-designed code and contribute to large established codebases.
• Located in the San Francisco or New York area and willing to work in the office.
