Applied AI Architect, Startups

Location: San Francisco, CA or New York City, NY. Hybrid policy: staff must work from one of the offices at least 25% of the time; some roles may require more office attendance.

Annual OTE compensation: $240,000–$315,000 USD.

What you will do

• Partner with Account Executives to understand startup requirements and translate them into technical solutions throughout Claude adoption.
• Help startups develop evaluation frameworks and demonstrate Claude’s performance for specific use cases.
• Advise founders and engineering teams on technical architecture, build patterns, and production deployment.
• Identify emerging startup use cases and deployment patterns, and share insights with Product and Engineering.
• Travel to customer sites, startup events, and industry conferences for workshops and technical deep dives.

Requirements

• 3+ years in a technical customer-facing role such as Solutions Architect, Sales Engineer, Forward Deployed Engineer, or technical founder with founder-led sales experience.
• Experience working with startups or high-growth technology companies.
• Software engineering or technical founder background with strong credibility among technical founders and engineering teams.
• Experience building and scaling AI products, including deploying LLM-powered applications in production.
• Expertise in context engineering, evaluation frameworks, modern AI architectures, and common LLM tools and integration patterns.
• Comfort with Python and strong technical communication skills.
