Senior Data Scientist (AI)

Location: Cleveland, Ohio, USA. The role begins fully onsite for onboarding, training, and immersion; after establishing working relationships, it may become hybrid with typically one remote day per week and potentially up to two, subject to business needs, performance, responsibilities, and manager approval.

What you will do

• Collaborate with scientists and multidisciplinary experts on research and development projects.
• Prepare, clean, and analyze complex datasets for scientific, engineering, and business applications.
• Develop statistical, predictive, prescriptive, machine learning, and deep learning models.
• Build, validate, deploy, and scale AI/ML solutions, including computer vision and generative AI applications.
• Evaluate transformer-based architectures, multimodal systems, and advanced AI models.
• Create visualizations and reports and communicate analytical findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements

• PhD, or MS plus 3 years of experience, in Data Science, Materials Science, Chemistry, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Strong Python programming skills for data preparation, statistical analysis, feature engineering, model development, evaluation, and visualization.
• Expertise in statistical modeling, machine learning, deep learning, regression, predictive modeling, experimental design, hypothesis testing, supervised and unsupervised learning, classification, clustering, neural networks, and transformer-based architectures.
• Hands-on computer vision experience with image classification, object detection, segmentation, anomaly detection, and image-based predictive modeling.
• Experience with generative AI, LLMs, prompt engineering, RAG, AI agents or copilots, and knowledge extraction applications.
• Experience with AI/ML frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, Scikit-learn, OpenCV, or YOLO.

Nice to have

• Experience with Microsoft Azure or other cloud-based AI/ML platforms, MLOps, and model deployment.
• Experience with SQL, MongoDB, data pipelines, and data engineering workflows.
• Strong communication skills and experience presenting complex technical findings to leadership and internal clients.
